Device that can produce printed colour output on paper or film. The most common and cheapest colour printers are inkjets. They use four coloured inks which are squirted in tiny dots on to the paper. By combining different coloured dots together, a wide range of colours can be printed. Thermal-wax printers are the most accurate and the most expensive colour printers. They use a tiny heating element to blend together four colour waxes that cool when they hit the surface of the paper.
